General information about My Son Sanctuary

As you know, My Son Sanctuary was an important religious center for the Cham people who lived in central Vietnam for many centuries. Due to abundant forestry and maritime industries, the Cham kingdom used to be the most prosperous one in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the trading with neighboring nations had spread out, especially many Indians coming for commerce with the Cham people.

Consequently, the Indian culture strongly impacted on the Cham culture. So, the Cham built many Hindu temples to worship Hindu gods who they believed Protectors of Cham Kings and its kingdom.

My Son Sanctuary Ruins

Today, My Son Sanctuary lies in a dense forest surrounded by giant mountain range. It has a total of 13 groups with more than 70 temples.  The main temple of Kalan in the middle of group where the Cham people used to worship a set of Linga and Yoni that represent fertility. Also, the main temple of Kalan is similar to Mount Meru, symbolizing for accommodation place of Hindu Gods. Besides, there are gate temple of Gopura, meditation house of Mandapa where people prepare ceremonial offerings. And some of auxiliary temples around the main temple will play different functions. Visit My Son Hindu Temples

On arrival in My Son Holy Land, we will get transfer by golf cart and then 10-minute walk will lead us to the main site of My Son. Then we will start our My Son Sunset Tour by wandering around this amazing Hindu complex and pay a visit to main groups of B, C, D first. Following that is another visit to group G which was built on the hill. Eventually, we will be heading to groups of E and F.

Rive cruise on Thu Bon river

After all, when we finish, we will walk back out and then the car will take us back to Hoi An. On the way, we will stop at Cau Lau bridge for a boat ride.

At arriving at Cau Lau bridge, we will embark on motorized boat for boat trip on Thu Bon river. So, it is such a relaxing, pleasant time for you to gaze at beautiful scenery of the river on two sides. Sometimes, you will see many big boats running up and down the river filled with lot of sand. The sweat of people and the sound of machine seem to fade away their hardship.

Surprisingly, if the weather permits, we can grab some amazing pictures of sunset, watch the changing of th different colors in the sky. You will have peaceful feeling when seeing the orange and yellow hues intertwining up above.
