Organic farming in Tra Que village

 

To start our Hoi An Cycling Tour, in the morning, the guide will come to meet you up at the hotel in Hoi An and then we commence our tour.

We first cycle to Tra Que Vegetable village where you can see many kinds of herbs and plants grown by the local people. This village is a lovely peaceful place by the Co Co river. People here collect seaweed from this river to make organic fertilizer and grow their produces. Some of vegetables are bok choi, spring onion, cabbage, coriander, lettuce, mint and so on.

On arrival at this spot, we wander around and visit green beautiful garden of Tra Que. Upon meeting a farmer, you can interact with him to know about their daily life. As your request, you can learn how to hoe the soil, put fertilizer, cover up and water the garden.

To continue our Hoi An Cycling Tour, we will cross the bridge and come to Cam Kim island where we cycle along the countryside and see green paddy fields. On the way, you can take some pictures of water buffaloes or farmers working in the field.

Then our first stop at this village is a rice noddle making family. Entering the family to know how they live and sit down and the host will instruct you how to make wet rice noodles and rice crackers. From grain rice till pour mixture on silk cloth and steam it to make rice noodles will take some steps. After that, the owner will serve you some rice crackers and enjoy it.

The following is a boat ride on Thu Bon river for you to admire the sceneries of Hoi An on two sides. We then head to Cam Thanh Water Coconut village where you can experience the basket boat ride, watching the man spinning his round boat and seeing fisherman casting the fishing net into water. As your request, you can get on his boat and try to do it.
